The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has offered the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru to help in the fight against Covid-19.
It is understood that the facility was specifically made available for Buikwe district as the country continues to fight against the global Pandemic.
Njeru which is barely five years old, since it was completed, is one of FUFA’s most prized assets, set up during Moses Magogo’s reign.
It is used to help different national teams as they prepare for regional, continental and global engaments.
Recently, it has also been a host venue for regional tournaments with the CECAF U17 Girls Championships the latest to be held there.
Uganda Premier League sides including BUL FC have also used Njeru as their host venue in the last couple of seasons.
With Football and other sporting events currently on halt, it is understandable why FUFA would make the facility available for the Covid-19 task force.
The gesture comes a few months after FUFA also offered food staffs to the task force to help those that have been hit hard by the current situation.
Since the first case of Covid-19 was detected in the country, Uganda has discovered 457 cases as of Monday, 01-06-2019.
Fortunately, there has been no death registered so far.
