Bayern Munich are moving ever so closer to a record 8th Bundesliga following a narrow victory over closest challengers Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Hansi Flick’ s side who looked slightly better than the home side throughout the entire 90 minutes won the game 1-0 at an empty Signal Iduna Park.

Highly rated right-hand cum midfielder Joshua Kimmich scored the all important goal, clipping the bal over the stranded Roman Burki in the Dortmund goal.

Not even the introduction of Jardon Sancho at the start of the second half could help Dortmund draw level on an evening on which they all but lost the crown.

The victory sees Bayern move 7 points clear at the top with 64 (points). For Dortmund, they remain second on 57 points, just three ahead Leipzig who play at home to Hertha Berlin.

In Leverkusen, Bayer’s three match winning run can to a crashing end as they were thumped 4-1 by a rampant Wolfsburg side.

A Marin Pongracic double either side of Maxi Anorld and Renato Steffen goals saw the visitors take a 4-0 lead at on point.

Julian Baumgartlinger scored Leverkusen’s consolation goal late in the game but the damage had already been inflicted.

The result ensures Leverkusen drops to 5th on the log, level on points with 4th placed Borussia Monchengladbach.

The three points won see Wolfsburg tighten their grip onto 6th spot with 42 points.

The highest scoring contest of Tuesday saw Eintracht Frankfurt draw 3-3 at home to Freiburg.

Vicenzo Grifo put Freiburg ahead on 28 minutes before Andre Silva level matters to see the first half end 1-1.

Twice goals inside as many second half minutes by Niels Peterson and Lucas Holar saw the visitors take a 3-1 lead by the 69th minute.

However, Frankfurt responded in style, striking late through Daichi Kamada and Timothy Chandler and in the process, earn a vital point in their race to fend off relegation fears.

The draw means both sides stay static in terms of positions with Frankfurt in 14th on 29 points while Freiburg are 7th on 37 points.

In the other day’s fixture, Borussia Monchengladbach were held to a 0-0 draw away to Werder Bremen.

The point sees Gladbach climb into 4th with 53 points while Bremen remain second from bottom with 22 points.

The Bundesliga continues on Wednesday with five fixtures on the menu.
