Uganda Cup: Holder Proline FC, Tooro United in action on Saturday

Uganda Cup – Round of 16

The 2020 Uganda Cup will continue on Saturday with two fixtures.

In Fortportal, troubled Tooro United FC will be hoping for solace at home to Kitara FC.

Tooro who have endured a trying season so far. From financial constraints to personnel throwing in the towel, all has not be ok at the Car Dealers.

With the club looking likely to overcome those issues, they are now facing a totally different problem all together.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, their head coach Muhammd Kiseka has been summoned by the FUFA Ethics committee over allegations that Tooro United FC players fix games.

Kiseka made those comments following a 1-0 home loss to SC Villa.

With the club sitting at the bottom of the Uganda Premier League table currently, this is not the sort of issues they would want to face going into the final bend of the season.

However, they will be seeking continue their brilliant run in the Cup so as to try and pick some momentum ahead of the last five games in the League.

Tooro have won both of their games in the cup, defeating Star Light and Kansai Plascon.

The two games came away from home and this will be their first home-Cup game of the campaign.

For Kitara, they have also had a troubled last few days.

According to sources, the players have been on strike and have been threatening not to honour the fixture on Saturday over unpaid wages.

It remains to be seen if the team will be at the pitch come game time on Saturday.

To reach this stage, Kitara ejected Six O’clock and Luwero United in the previous rounds.

The other game on Saturday will pit defending champions Proline FC away to Mbale Heros.

Proline have struggled at the wrong end of the UPL table all season and would want to seek solace in the cup.

Having won it while in the Big League last year, Proline will be confident they can repeat the trick even if they are struggling in the top flight.

In the previous rounds, Proline eliminated Katwe United and Admin FC.

For Mbale Heros, they ejected Ggaba and Mvara.
