Uganda Premier League
Busoga United FC vs Kyetume FC
Mighty Arena, Jinja
Tuesday, 03-03-2020 @4:30pm

Busoga United FC will host Kyetume FC in one of the two Uganda Premier League fixtures on Tuesday.

This contest pits the landlord of the Mighty Arena against their tenants.

Busoga United who are affiliated with Jinja SS host the games at the venue while Kyetume FC have been renting the facility since the turn of the year.

The game is more significant for Kyetume who would want to put more distance between them and the relegation zone.

A few weeks ago, the Slaughters were in the bottom three and looked increasingly likely to return to the Big League.

However, a turn in fortunes has seen them climb up the table and now look like they will retain their status in the top flight.

In their last six games across all competitions, they have won four and drawn the other two.

They currently sit 9th on the log with 30 points, 8 away from the Police FC who occupy the third and final relegation spot.

As they seek for more points, they face a side that is also oozing confidence.

Busoga United who are currently 5th with 39 points and have a strong case to finish 3rd as SC Villa who currently occupy it (3rd) are only four points away from them.

A win for Busoga on Tuesday will see them leap frog URA FC into 4th.

Speaking ahead of the game, Busoga United FC head coach Abby Kikomeko is confident his side will continue their fine run of form as they have had the best of preparations.

“We have prepared very well having played five games in the month of February and lost only one and now beginning a new month, noted Kikomeko.

“The players are in good gear with the exception of our midfielder George Kasonko who is suspended.

“We are playing a team that is scoring goals because of the maturity and seniority but we shall work upon that to see that we don’t concede goals.”

This will be only the second meeting between the two side with the first having ended in a 2-1 victory for Kyetume FC.
