Uganda Premier League
Police FC vs Bright Stars FC
StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Tuesday, 18-02-2020 @4:30pm

There will be an interesting duel at Lugogo when Police FC hosts Bright Stars FC at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday afternoon.

The fixture pits two sides that are fighting to avoid relegation this season.

They go into the game know that they fan not afford dropping points against their direct rivals.

Currently, Police FC occupies 14th spot, the third relegation slot.

The Cops started the year in impressive form, winning all of their first three games.

However, things have started falling apart and they are now on a three-match winless run, losing twice and losing the other.

Police head coach Abdallah Mubiru knows that they need to pick up momentum as soon as possible.

“We have been on a poor run of form and we want to rectify the situation as soon as possible, said Mubiru.

“We have a chance to get points off one of our direct rivals and it feels like a final for us already, just like the rest of the games we will play as the seasons winds down.

“They are a good side in good form but we know what we can do and we will try to put them under a lot of pressure and God willing, win the game.”

Bright Stars are indeed in good form as they are currently on a four-game unbeaten run in the league.

During that period, they have won three and drawn the other.

That run of good results has seen them climb into 12th on the log.

However, they sit just a point above Police and will know that it is not time to take the foot off the gas peddle.

The first meeting between the two sides this season ended in a 1-0 victory for Police at Wankulukuku.

The other games to be played on Tuesday

-Vipers SC vs KCCA FC @4pm
-Wakiso Giants FC vs Maroons FC @4:30pm
-Busoga United FC vs URA FC @4:30pm
