LUGOGO – KCCA FC know that their is no room for error when they take on Maroons FC in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.
The Kasasiros lost their last game 2-1 to URA FC and after Vipers SC beat Onduparaka FC on Sunday, it left Mike Mutebi’s side five points off the pace.
With just 10 games to play, three points at home to Maroons is a must for KCCA FC or else the title will start slipping away.
Speaking ahead of the game, KCCA FC head coach Mutebi has noted that his team is ready but they know that their is no room for error.
“We have prepared well ahead of the game against Maroons despite our injury issues, said Mutebi.
“We can not afford to make the mistakes we made against URA.
“We have tried to correct mistakes from the past game and we have to go again.
“A league is a marathon not a sprint. We still have 10 games to fight for it and we shall give our very best in the remaining games.”
Like Mutebi noted, KCCA FC have several injury concerns ahead of the game. Jurua Hassan, Kasozi Nicholas, John Odumegwu, Muzamiru Mutyaba, John Revita, and Julius Poloto are ruled out due to injury. Jackson Nunda is still undertaking rehabilitation that he commenced on Tuesday 7th January.
Sadam Juma, Steven Sserwadda and Opio Sunday have stepped up their recovery from injuries but are all not expected to take part. The good news coming out of the treatment room indicate that Eric Ssenjobe is fit to feature.
The duo of Kezironi Kizito and Simon Sserunkuma will take part on Tuesday after serving their club suspension.
For Maroons, they are also hoping to return to winning ways after failing to register a single victory in any of their last two games.
Douglas Bamweyana’s side lost 2-1 to Bright Stars FC before drawing 1-1 with Tooro United FC last Friday.
Currently in 10th, the Prisons’ side know that thy are not yet safe from relegation as they sit just four points off the drop zone.

This will be the 12th meeting between the two sides since October 2010.
In the previous 11 meetings, KCCA FC have won 8, Maroons 1 with the other two ending in draws.
The Kasasiros have not lost to Maroons in any of their past 7 meetings, winning 5 and drawing thw other two.
Last season, KCCA defeated Maroons home and away including a 6-1 victory at Lugogo.
The first meeting between the two sides this season saw KCCA win 3-1 at Luzira.
