Express FC registered their second successive league victory under Wasswa Bbosa on Wednesday as they defeated Tooro United FC 2-1 at Kavumba.

Bbosa who replaced George Ssemwogerere at the helm-two weeks ago, had the Frank pair of Ssenyondo and Kalanda to thank for scoring his side’s two goals.

Mike Kawooya netted Tooro’s only goal of the game, one that proved to be a mere consolation in the end.

Ssenyondo scored the games’ opening goal inside the first minute off a Disan Ggaliwango assist.

Eight minutes to half time, the Red Eagles top scorer Kalanda doubled their advantage with his 8th goal of the season.

With six minutes to play, Kawooya pulled a goal back for the hosts but it could not act as inspiration for a leveler as the game finished 2-1 in favour of Express.

It was a contest that was played in a friendly manner with either side having only a single player booked.

Express’ January signing Baker Lukooya was cautioned for the hosts while the same fate befell Tooro’s Ronald Orombi.

The returning Cyrus Kibande was named man of the match for his efforts in the game. The Red Eagle had been out for a while due to injury.

The victory takes Express to 10th position with 27 points while Tooro remains second from bottom with 19 points.

In their next fixtures, Express will be way to KCCA FC while Tooro hosts Police FC on the same day.

The other games played on Wednesday

-SC Villa 1-0 Onduparaka FC
-Kyetume FC 4-3 Mbarara City FC
-Proline FC 3-1 BUL FC
