Busoga United FC rallied from a goal down to defeat city rivals BUL FC 2-1 in the only Uganda Premier League games played on Saturday.

Having trailed to a Musa Walangalira goal, the host scored once in either half to win the hotly contested encounter.

David Bagoole and Lawrence Tezikya scored the two important goals for Busoga who now complete a maiden double over BUL FC having defeated them 3-0 in the first meeting of the season.

After a spirited start to the game by both side, Walangalira neatly connected with a Fredrick Kigozi free kick to node in the opening goal on 14 minutes.

Three minutes later, it was all square as Bagoole riffled in the equalizer off a shot from distance.

With halftime beckoning, Busoga struck again with Tezikya heading in Dan Sewava’s cross.

It was a game played in a derby spirit with both sides getting limited goal scoring chances.

The victory elevates Busoga onto 30 points, level with BUL.

The Students are now 6th while BUL drops to 7th having scored less goals than their rivals.

In their next fixtures, Busoga are away to URA FC next Wednesday while BUL hosts Vipers on Sunday.
