Vipers SC have sacked head coach Edward Golola and his entire technical team.
This was announced via the Venoms’ official website on Thursday afternoon.
“Vipers Sports Club announces that head coach Edward Golola and his entire technical team have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect, reads a post on Vipers SC official website.
“The club would like to thank Golola and his team for their work during their time at Vipers SC and to wish them success in the future.”
The sacking come in the wake of Vipers’ penalty loss to Kajjansi United in the Uganda Cup, a result that means they are now eliminated from the most prestigious cup competition in the country.
It was their second successive loss of the campaign following a 1-0 defeat by SC Villa last Friday.
Overall, Golola and his team lost just three games in the entire 2019/20 season with two coming in the League and one in the cup.
They depart the Venoms while still top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and with a healthy four-point caution ahead of second-placed KCCA FC.
It was also announced that Vipers will appoint a caretaker technical team until the end of the current season, while they conduct a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time coach.
Vipers’ next match will be away to Mbarara City FC on Tuesday, January 28-2020.
