Saturday, 18-01-2020

URA FC made it three victories in as many second round games as they beat Bright Stars FC 1-0 on Saturday.

In the game played at the Arena of Visions in Bombo, Cromwel Rwothomio scored the only goal of the game.

Rwothomio who has now scored five goals this campaign, headed in Benjamin Nyakojo’s long ball on 33 minute.

URA FC had earlier missed a glorious chance to take the lead as captain Shafick Kagimu failed to convert from the penalty spot.

The skipper was left red-faced as his attempt was thwarted following a foul on Michael Birungi in the area.

Sam Simbwa’s side side who have also beaten SC Villa and BUL FC in the last two games were on song once again and could have scored more.

Stars’ custodian Bule expertly denied Joackim Ojera while Kagimu could not beat the former Express FC custodian while in a one-on-one situation.

The visitors also had their moments but could not capitalize.

The victory ensures URA FC climbs into 4th with 29 points from 18 games.
For Bright Stars, they are 14th on the standings with 16 points.

Up next for URA is a trip to Lugazi Municipal in Uganda Cup before visiting Tooro United in the Uganda Cup.

Bright Stars visit Koboko Rising Stars in Uganda Cup before hosting Maroons on Wednesday 29th January.

The other games played on Saturday

-Busoga United FC 1-0 Mbarara City FC
-Maroons FC 2-0 BUL FC
