Friday, 10-01-2019

Hamis Kizza scored a brace as Proline FC defeated Maroons FC 2-1 at the Luzira Prisons Stadium on Friday.

The veteran striker scored twice in the first half to ensure victory for the Lugogo based side despite Maroons pulling one back through league top scorer Steven Mukwala.

Kizza put Proline ahead on 14 minutes and six minutes later, he doubled their advantage to ensure they held a comfortable two-goal caution t the break.

Mukwala who has now scored 11 goals this season, struck on 54 minutes to halve Maroons’s deficit and set up a tense finale.

However, Douglas Bamweyana’s side would not find a second which would have ensured a share of the spoils and hence succumbed to a 7th defeat of the campaign.

Proline ended the game with 10 men following Mustafa Mujuzi’s dismissal late in the contest.

The three points mean Proline move onto 12 points from 16 games. However they remain rooted at the bottom of the pile.

For Maroons, they are now 10th with 19 points.

In their next assignments, Proline host Vipers on Tuesday while Maroons are away to Onduparaka on the same day.

The other games played on Friday

-Busoga United FC 2-0 Express FC
-Vipers SC 1-0 Kyetume FC
-Bright Stars FC 1-0 BUL FC
