Mbarara City will hope to bank on their slim victory over Onduparaka on Tuesday as they welcome Kyetume to Kakyeka Stadium on Friday for a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game.

The Ankole Lions had gone six games without a win, losing four in that run, but managed to grab all the three points against the West Nile side in form of a 2-1 win ending the unwanted run.

Forward Solomon Okwalinga was the hero on Tuesday meaning all eyes will be on him for another winning performance. Okwalinga scored both Mbarara’s goals, with the second coming in added time.

Brian Sseyondo is still in charge of the team as caretaker, and he will hope that Tuesday’s victory motivates players and goes ahead to restore confidence.

Winning tomorrow is going to be a tall ask though as the side hasn’t been able to register back to back victories this term, however, with Kyetume as the opposing side, the Ankole Lions will look to achieve that.

Although with mixed results, the visitors who early this week parted company with coach George Best Nsimbe enjoyed a promising start to their maiden season in top flight, impressing with their displays. The debutants have actually amassed five wins, however, their performance has dropped.

They have lost their last two games, conceding ten goals while scoring just one in those two games. Before their 7-1 massacre by Onduparaka, the side had let in just eight goals. Only Vipers, KCCA and SC Villa had conceded less, but now they head into tomorrow’s game as the third joint worst defenders in the league along with their hosts.

Kyetume sit ninth in the league with 16 points while Mbarara are four places and three points down.
