Mbarara City FC and Bright Stars FC played out a goalless draw at Kakyeka Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

It was a disappointing result for the Ankole Lions who were marking their return to Kakyeka Stadium.

Paul Nkata’s side who started the season, hosting games in Luzira, could not make home advantage count as they failed to break down the Stars.

They had chances but could not burry them with Bebe Swalik heading Ibrahim Orit’s cross wide inside the first 15 minutes.

Later, Brian Ahebwa had a shot expertly saved by Bright Stars’ goalie Godwin Buule.

Solomon Okwalinga also came close but shot went agonizingly wide of the target.

Mbarara have now gone five games minus tasting victory having drawn twice and lost on three occasions.

The draw piles more pressure onto head coach Paul Nkata who has won only once since replacing Brian Ssenyondo at the helm.

Mbarara now drop into 13th spot on the log, having gathered 10 points from 12 games.

Bright Stars remain 14th on the log with 10 points.

In their next assignments, Mbarara visits second-placed BUL FC at Njeru while Bright Stars will host SC Villa.
