Uganda Premier League
BUL FC vs Mbarara City FC
Bugembe Stadium, Jinja
Saturday, 09-11-2019 @3pm
Two clubs with varying ambitions lock horns on Saturday as Bul welcome Mbarara City to their new look Bugembe Stadium.
The hosts will be searching for maximum points as they look to secure their eighth win of the campaign and enhance their chances of winning the league.
It is very unlikely that the Jinja side will end the campaign as champions, but that’s not going to stop them from dreaming. Peter Onen and his charges sit second in the league with 24 points, six adrift of leaders Vipers, but with victory tomorrow, that gap will decrease to just three as the Kitende boys are out of action this weekend.
Their return to Bugembe Stadium could act as an extra motivation, and what way to celebrate the return than picking all the three points.
Opponents Mbarara City are winless in five. The last time the Ankole Lions were on a winning side was at the start of October. Interestingly, it was against a Jinja outfit, Busoga United.
It is early days, but flirting with relegation isn’t what the fans want. The side will hope to upset their hosts as they try to distance themselves from the dreaded zone.
Mbarara currently occupy the 13th position in the league with 10 points.
