KAMPALA – With just over a week to the start of the 2019-20 FUFA Women Super League season, FUFA has released fixtures of the first round.
The fixtures were released on Thursday with all four games of match-day one being played on the same weekend.
The first two games will be played on Saturday, November 2nd with the other two (match-day one) expected to take place the following day.
On Saturday, Kampala Queens host Olila High School at IUIU grounds in Kabojja while UCU Lady Cardinals entertain She Corporates in Mukono.
The following day, Muteesa 1 Royal University takes on Lady Doves in Kabojja while Kawempe Moslem host Uganda Martyrs High School.
The first round of the league will close on Saturday, December 21st with a match between UCU and Olila in Mukono.
In total, 28 matches will be played across 7 match-days in the FUFA Women Super League.
The FUFA Women Super League is a new league that was introduced by the federation this year replacing the FUFA Women Elite League that had been played since 2015.
The new league will be played on a three-legged basis and in a block format, unlike the last seasons where it was split into two groups of eight.
There will be no playoffs this season but the team with the most points at the end of the 21 games being crowned champions.
The bottom two sides will be relegated to the FUFA Women Elite League that was consequently created as the second division.
UCU Lady Cardinals won the last edition of the 2018/2019 FUFA Women Elite League.
