LUGOGO – Isma Kawawulo scored the only goal of the day as Busoga United defeated Proline 1-0 at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday.

The defender rose highest to node in the winner after 34 minutes following Proline’s inability to deal with a Joel Madondo corner.

The win elevates Abby Kikomeko’s side into 5th on the standings with 10 points.

For Proline, they remain bottom of the pile with no points gathered so far.

It was a bad day at office for Matia Lule’s side as nothing seemed to go their way.

For Express FC and Vipers SC striker Alfred Leku came the closest to scoring for Proline but could not tap into an empty net.

Edrisa Lubega who was returning to the team after he was deemed ineligible to feature in the loss at Vipers on Saturday, had an effort rattle the cross bar.

Busoga were by far the better side on the day and could have walked away with a better score-line but Dan Ssewava saw a goal-bound effort pushed to safety by Bashir Sekagya.

In their first 8 games, Busoga have now beaten BUL FC, Bright Stars and Proline. They have also lost to Tooro United, KCCA FC, Onduparaka and Mbarara City while also drawing with SC Villa.
