Cromwel Rwothomio scored twice as URA edged Onduparaka 1-2 at the Green Light Stadium in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.
Wahab Gaddafi’s penalty proved to be a consolation for the home side.
The tax collectors had gone six games without a win since beating Maroons 3-0 in their league opener.
This is the second loss for Onduparaka this season after losing to Proline 1-0 at Lugogo.
Mikidad Ssenyonga who had replaced an injured Yeseri Waibi in the 12th minute released Cromwell who put the visitors ahead at the half-hour mark.
Rwothomio doubled the advantage in the 51st minute after the hosts failed to defend from Said Kyeyune’s free kick.
Former URA forward Vitalis Tabu was denied by Alitho James, Rashid Okocha shot wide and Bhetto’s header was cleared off the line as Onduparaka tried to mount a come-back.
URA have now accumulated nine points while Onduparaka remains with 15 points but lose their top spot to BUL who stunned KCCA.
Rwothomio was named the Pilsner man of the match.
URA face Mbarara City at Namboole as Onduparaka visit their bogey side KCCA at Lugogo.
