LUGOGO – KCCA FC played out a goalless draw with Paradou AC in the first leg of their CAF Confederations Cup playoff round tie on Sunday.

KCCA FC looked the better side especially in the last 45 minutes but could not break down a resolute Paradou side who will be smiling with a point.

The returning Muzamir Mutyaba got the better chances to score at leasr a goal for the home side but he could not deliver in the end.

Mutyaba who has been out with an injury since the 1-1 draw with Petro de Luanda, saw a goal bound effort diflected out for a fruitless corner.

He then headed a Steven Sserwadda cross off target.

Allan Okello and Mike Mutyaba also had half chances in the game but could not get the better of Toufik Moussaoui in the Paradou goal.

The visitors also had chances of their own but both Abdel Kadri and Yousri Bouzok could not score while one on one with KCCA FC’s custodian Charles Lukwago.

This is the second consecutive game in which KCCA FC have failed to win at home on the continent. The last was against Petro de Luanda, one that saw them drop into the Confederations Cup.

Mike Mutebi’s side will now have to score a goal or else scrap to another goalless draw and negotiate their way through penalties-in the second leg, so as to progress into the group stages of the competition.

The two side will meet again on Sunday, November 3rd in the second leg.
