NAMBOOLE – SC Villa will take on Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier League in one of the three games set to be played on Tuesday.
In what is another night game, Ibrahim Kirya will be the center of focus as the two sides meet on match-day 8.
Kirya was at the helm as Wakiso Giants earned promotion to the top tier last season-at the first time of asking.
After they were promoted, Kirya left and became an assistant coach at SC Villa where he has been more of the man in charge alongside Edward Kaziba.
Ahead of the game, Kirya says he has no point to prove to his former employers Wakiso Giants.
“There is no point to prove, said Kirya ahead of the game.
“I have respect for them (Wakiso Giants) for what we achieved together but am now at Villa and will do everything to win.
“It’s a game between two clubs and not personalities and I expect a tough but entertaining encounter.
Ever since he left, Wakiso have embarked on a journey to try and ensure they remain in the top flight and have not started badly.
Currently, Kefa Kisala’s side are 6th on the log with 10 points from their opening 8 games. They defeated Mbarara City 2-1 in their last game.
This will be Wakiso’s first night game in their brief history but Kisala is not concerned.
“It’s our first game under floodlights against a very good side and away from home but we are ready to give a good account of ourselves,” said Kisala.
Wakiso will be without Ayub Kisalita for the Villa game. The versatile midfielder twisted his knee during injury and is expected to be out for close to a month.
He joins Yasin Mugabi and Yasin Mugume on the sidelines and the game could come too early for Aggrey Madoi (illness).
