MENGO – The Uganda Premier League governing body Secretariat has given Onduparaka FC the go ahead to host games at the Green Light Stadium in Arua.
This was confirmed on Tuesday morning through a latter by the UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani Bampire.
“The Secretariat has received a letter from FUFA indicating that Green Light Stadium has since met the minimum requirements to host Uganda Premier League games, read part of the letter.
“Accordingly all Onduparaka FC home games will now be hosted at Green Light Stadium.”
Onduparaka had initially received a directive by UPL not to use the venue as it did not meet the minimum standards required.
As a consequence, they used the Luzira Prisons Stadium to host their opener against Police, one that did not take place as the Cops were away for Military games in Kenya.
The move to return to Arua will be welcomed with open arms as the Green Light Stadium has in the past become a fortress for the Caterpillars.
Since they were elevated to the top flight, Onduparaka have lost only three games at the stadium, evidence to how strong they are in Arua.
Now that they have been given the green light to go back to Arua, they will host their second home game against Vipers SC on Match-Day 04 in the Green Light Stadium.
Before then, they will take on Proline on Wednesday and Express later this week, away from home.
