PSG and Rennes will clash for the third time in four months, on Sunday, when the Ligue One returns this weekend.

Rennes defeated the Parisians on penalties to win the League Cup at the back end of last season before PSG returned the favour in the Super Cup, this month.

The two fixtures have been tense and emotional, giving indicators of a growing rivalry between the two sides.

Last weekend, both sides registered victories in their respective opening day fixtures and will be eyeing to make it a perfect six points in two games.

PSG defeated Nimes 3-0 at the Parc de Princes with Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe and Edison Cavani all on target.

Tomas Tuschel’s side are still without the suspended Naymer Jr who is most likely on his way back to the La Liga.

Life without their superstar has so far been ok so far and PSG will be expected to take care of a Rennes side that has lost several key players in the transfer window.

Ander Herrera and Timo Kehrer are the other absentees for the visitors while French duo of Adrien Hunou and Flavian Tait are injured for Rennes.

The French Ligue One Match-Day 2 starts on Friday when Olympic Lyon hosts Angers SCO at the Stade de Lyon.

Just like PSG and Rennes, these two sides were also victorious on opening weekend.

Lyon beat 10-man Monaco 3-0 while Angers were 3-1 victors over Bordeaux.

Sylvinho’s side who will be without the injured Fernando Marcal is slowly but steadily dealing with the departure of Nabil Fekir and the combination of Moussa Dembele and Memphis Depay will once again be looked at for inspiration against Angers.

The other fixtures to look out for will be Marseille’s visit to Nantes and Saint Ettiene hosting Brest.

Last week, Marseille lost 0-2 at home to Nimes, Nantes went down 1-2 against Lille, Brest drew 1-1 with Toulouse while Saint Ettiene ran out 2-1 winners away to Dijon.
