LUGOGO – Belief, belief,belief-the thine line between glory and a second consecutive preliminary knockout for Ugandan powerhouse -KCCA FC.

Within the crowd, nerves were starting to brew, blood was boiling and pigments of frustration were evident, but the Kasasiros kept believing until they got the ball past the line.

Perhaps against one of the most tactically organized team they have faced at home in awhile since the Mamelodi Sundowns 1-1 in 2016.

African stars cast a lot of doubt in the minds of the players and could have made a tough outing even horrible early in the second half after a defensive splitter invited KCCA FC’s shot stopper out of his territory to keep the game within frame.

And that’s the moment that turned the tables around-more possession in the final third, more shots in between the uprights and then goals.

Both Mustafa Kiiza and Allan Okello saw the back of the net in the 80th and 85th minute respectively.

Speaking to the press after the match head coach Mike Mutebi said that he has a good team, and his players are still young but the way they play doesn’t really exemplify their age.

“I have a good team and my players are young, but the way they play doesn’t exemplify that they are young” Mutebi said.

He also said that; “our target is to get into the group stages but we need to first go past our next opponents to fulfill our dreams.”

KCCA proceeds to the next round of the CAF champions league.
