KAMPALA – Proline FC have completed the signing of former Uganda Cranes striker Hamis Diego Kiiza.
Kiiza has joined the Lugogo based side on a one-year-deal until the end of the 2019/20 season.
He has been training with Shafick Bisaso’s side ever since his short term deal with Vipers SC expired at the back end of last season.
Kiiza joined Vipers in January but failed to impress hance his contract was terminated.
He has impressed Bisaso with a string of good perfomances including scoring four times in Proline’s last build-up game.
To Proline, Kiiza brings much needed experience to a young squad which earned promotion back to the top tier last season.
He has previously featured for sides in Ethiopia, South Africa, Sudan, Kenya and on the national team The Cranes.
He is a former StarTimes Uganda Premier league top scorer with URA FC, one of the three clubs he has played for in Uganda. The others are Nalubaale and Vipers SC.
Kiiza becomes Proline’s sixth signing after Andrew Okiringi, Bernard Muwanga, Shatif Magoola, Yusuf Mukisa and Sula Sekamwa.
Proline will take on Vipers in their first game in the Pilsner Super 8 on Wednesday.
In other transfer news, tactician Moses Basena has joined Rwandese side Sunrise FC on a one year deal.
Basena was unveiled on Monday afternoon at the Rwandese Premier League side.
He has been out of employment since he was fired by SC Villa at the start of last season.
He has also previously coached the National team on an interim basis after replacing Micho in 2017.
