Uganda vs Zimbabwe

Legends Grounds, Lugogo

Saturday, 27-06-2019

KAMPALA – The Uganda Rugby Union has named a 23 man squad that will take on Zimbabwe in the 2019 Victoria Cup.

The Rugby Cranes are slated to take on their Zimbabwe counter parts at Legends grounds in Lugogo on on Saturday 27th July at 4:30pm.

While addressing the media at the press conference, Robert Sseguya, the Cranes coach, assured them that the National team is ready for the Victoria Cup game and that he expects they will bring a win for Uganda.

“The boys are ready and our target will be victory against Zimbabwe. Noted Seguya.

“We know they are also ready but this is our home and we will try to make home advantage count.

The Rugby Cranes Management maintained 20 players and have only 3 debutants in the squad.

The debutants are; Kelvin Balagadde, Faraj Odugo and Ivan Kabagambe.

The team will be captained by Asuman Mugerwa and he will be debutized by Charles Uhuru.

Notably missing are stalwarts Brian Asaba and Ian Muyani who did not recover from the injuries received in their respective last games.

The Uganda team is a mixture between youth and experience and are out to put their campaign back on track after the loss to Kenya a fortnight ago in the Elgon Cup.

Match Referee is Victor Odour from Kenya and will be assisted by two Ugandan Officials.
