KCCA FC defeat Azam to win first CECAFA Kagame Cup since 1798

KCCA FC left back Mustapha Kizza scored the only goal of the games as KCCA FC defeated Azam to win the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Kizza scored via a cross-shot in the 62 minutes handing the Kasasiros an advantage that they held onto till the end.

Mike Mutebi’s side would have scored more goals but Azam goal keeper Razak Abalora denied them the chance.

Hebert Achai attempted a shot from 30 yards but the ball went wide in the 50th minute.

Kizza also had early shot wide after he was played in by Sadat Anaku’s clever back-heel on 54 minutes.

After Kizza scored, Achai was rested and Saddam Juma replaced him in the 63th minute.

Nicholas Kasozi replaced Mike Mutyaba while youngster Serwadda came in for injured Sadat Anaku late on.

Speaking to the press after the match head coach Mike Mutebi said his team had a good game and they played well.

“My players had a good tournament, they fulfilled the promise of winning the trophy. ” said Mutebi.

“We are going into the next season victors and winners so we are confident every thing will move smoothly” the gaffer added.

KCCA takes home a. prize money worth $30,000 ( shs.100 million), while Aza receive $20,000 (shs.80 million) .and Green Eagles $10,000 (shs. 38 million) respectively
