Having returned to Kampala, the Uganda Cranes resumed training ahead of their second leg CHAN 2020 qualifier against Somalia, on Tuesday.

The Cranes defeated Somalia 3-1 last Saturday and hope to finish the job in Kampala come this weekend.

In the training on Tuesday , it was mainly characterized by recovery drills, ball work and transition.

Head coach Abudalah Mubiru recalled back the players he had dropped for the first leg, all taking part in the day’s morning session.

Taddeo Lwanga and Timothy Awanyi were not among the players who trained because they are tipped for moves away from the country.

Speaking to the press after training, head coach-Mubiru said he is confident his team is going to qualify.

“We are not worried about the goal we conceded, am very confident that we are going to qualify.” Said Mubiru.

The coach also added that the team is going to miss the services of Awanyi and Lwanga.

“Awanyi and Lwanga are probably going to miss the second leg because they agreed terms with teams outside the country that’s why I brought back the players who we had dropped.” he added.

Cranes return to training on Wednesday with another single session.
