Nyamityobora FC 0-2 KCCA FC

MBARARA – “We still have unfinished business and our target is to win all our remaining games.” That was what KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi said moments after his side were crowned the 2018/19 StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions, last week.
And unlike most teams who would feel a sense of satisfaction after winning the league and in turn get complacent, KCCA does not look like any of them.
On Wednesday afternoon, KCCA FC were away to Nyamityobora in a game that no one would fault them if they lost, but just like their coach said, they proved they want to win it and all their remaining games.
Dominating it from the on-set and creating a host of goalscoring chances, the Kasasiros ran out 2-0 victors, their 18th victory of the season.
Striker Patrick Henry Kaddu who has not been at his best throughout the entire season, popped up with the goods on the day as he struck both of the visitors’ goals.
His first goal arrived after just 10 minutes into the game, bundling the ball into the back of the net off an Allan Okello assist.
The second which is his 12th of the campaign arrived at the stroke of half time as the former Maroons striker headed in a Jackson Nunda’s delivery.
Kaddu tally of 12 goals this season takes him level with Vipers’ Dan Sserunkuma, one behind the duo of Joel Madondo and Bashir Mutanda but a distant 7 adrift of top scorer Juma Balinya.
The game however, did not end in all smiles for the visitors as Nicholas Kasozi was given his marching orders in injury time for accumulation of two yellow cards.
This means that Kasozi will miss the coronation game at home to Maroons FC on Saturday.
The win puts KCCA on 63 points from 29 games. They remain 7 points ahead of second-placed Vipers SC who defeated Paidha Black Angels 1-0 on the same day.
For Nyamityobora who are already relegated to the Big League, they remained second from bottom with 17 points. The loss is their 20th of the season, level with bottom-placed Paidha.
