Paidha Black Angels vs Onduparaka FC
Bar Okoro Stadium, Zombo
Wednesday, 24-04-2019 @4:30pm
ZOMBO – It is such a pity that one of the most fiercely contested encounters in the country, will be played with one team already relegated.
When Paidha host Onduparaka on Wednesday, the Black Angels will already be thinking about life back in the Big League as they became the first team to be relegated from the top tier this season, close to a fortnight ago.
Paidha have had a tough first season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, one which is compounded by the fact that they have used up to four managers already.
Despite the change in management on a frequent basis, their fortunes have not changed, spending most of their time rooted at the foot of the table.
That however, has not been the case with their arch-rivals Onduparaka who have performed just like they did in their first two season.
The Caterpillars who also made two managerial changes this season have once again impressed on several occasions and have not been any closer to the drop than they have been, to the top four.
Currently occupying 7th, Onduparaka are just 5 points behind Tooro United who sit in 4th.
However, derbies are derbies and form is thrown out of the window once the game starts.
Despite Paidha’s relegation and Onduparaka’s assured performances, they game which promises to pull a huge crowd, will surely be hotly contested for the entire 90 minutes and if the hosts can pull off a victory, they at least will have a massive result to go down with.
Match Facts
This will be only the second West Nile derby to be contested in the top tier.
