StarTimes Uganda Premier League
Vipers Vs URA
St Mary’s Stadium kitende
Friday @4:00pm
KITENDE – Vipers SC returns to action on Friday when they host Sam Ssimbwa’s URA FC in one of the two StarTimes Uganda Premier league games.
Following a barren draw against Mbarara City FC at Kakyeka stadium last week on Wednesday, Vipers SC come into this game knowing that if they fall to URA the Venoms will further slide away from defending their League title.
What the coaches say.
Sam Ssimbwa (URA FC).
“We want to capitalize on our away record which is a motivation for us going into tomorrow’s game.”
“We haven’t lost any away game this season so we want to try not to lose tomorrow as well.”
Michael Nam Ouma (Vipers SC).
“The fight is still on, We want to ensure that we manage our remaining games on a positive note, and we have not lost hope because with four games to go, that is 12 points.”
“And the guys ahead, KCCA; they are six points ahead, so anything can happen in the four games. So the battle is still on.”
Team News:
Midfielder Moses Waiswa and Halid Lwaliwa are out of the encounter because of injury while Dan Serunkuma will miss the match because he has three yellow cards.
Yayo Lutimba, who missed the previous match through suspension returns with Tito Okello who was suspended by the club for in discipline.
James Alitho returns to St Mary’s Stadium after leaving the side to join URA FC.
Defender Ronald Kigongo and Allan Mugalu are both ruled out of the game because they have injuries.
Match Facts:
At 50 points, Vipers are six behind KCCA with four matches to go. Failure for the venoms to pick maximum points against a bogey URA side would leave the Kasasiro boys a clearer run to the title.
In the previous 27 meetings, Vipers has won 5, drawn 11 and lost 11 times scoring 26 goals conceding 34 in the process.
The last encounter at Namboole ended 1-1 courtesy of Dan Serunkuma and Shafic Kagimu’s goals.
URA FC is third on the table log with 43 points.
