ANTALYA – TURKEY: The Uganda Cubs’ technical team led by Jackson Magera has named the starting IX set to take on Cameroon in the first game of the UEFA Assist U17 International Tournament in Turkey.
In the game that will be played on Monday afternoon at the Emirhan Sports Complex in the City of Antalya, Magera and his peers have decided to start with Kirinya JSS goalkeeper Delton Oyo in between the sticks.
AFCON 2019 Regional qualifiers’ hero Ibrahim Juma has also been handed a start and it will be him along with Davis Sekajja and Thomas Kakaire that the team will look up to for inspiration against the West Africans.
Speaking ahead of the game, Magera said that he expects a good game from his side after they responded well in the final training session.
“Preparations for the game have been fantastic, said Magera.
“The boys responded well in the final training session.
“We expect a very good game when we face the Cameroonian side.

The opening match of the tournament will however be played at 10 AM when Tanzania takes on Guinea.
Morocco will face Belarus at noon, Australia will face hosts Turkey at 3:30 PM before the final game on the evening when Uganda entertains Cameroon.
The Ugandan contingent is accommodated at the Xanthe Resort and Spa in Antalya.
This tournament is exclusively sponsored by UEFA and it will help the Africa countries invited to prepare for the CAF U-17 tournament that will be staged in Tanzania, come April.
