-Bright Stars 0-0 SC Villa

Mbarara City registered their second league victory of the season thanks to a 2-0 victory at home to Nations on Saturday.

Ibrahim Oriti and Makweth Awol scored in either half for the Ankole Lions to condemn Maroons to a third loss in as many games this season.

Oriti broke the deadlock in the 25th minute to put Livingstone Mbabazi’s side in the lead.

The half time whistle came with the hosts on top of the game and in the second half, Mbarara piled more pressure in search for another goal and got it through substitute Awol who scored on his initial feel of the ball.

Mbarara City now move to six points form a possible nine, same as Bul and Onduparaka while Maroons remain in the bottom three with no points.

In Matugga, Bright Stars’ 100% record start to the league came to an end as they were held to a 0-0 draw by SC Villa.

Fred Kajoba’s side came into the game full on confidence after winning their first two games but could not break down Villa who had managed only a point in two league outings.

The two teams started fast with either looking for an early goal but none could find a break through.

In the second half, there were changes by both coaches but the deadlock remained unbroken as either settled for a point.

Bright Stars are now on 7 points, same as KCCA and URA while Vipers are just above the drop zone with two points out of the available nine.

The other game on Saturday:

-Vipers 1:0 Nyamityobora
