Just days to Uganda Sand Cranes’ crucial AFCON qualifier at home to Ivory Coast, it has been confirmed that the team captain Peter Somoka has signed for Kirinya JSS.
Somoka who plays for Isabeti Beach Soccer club is believed to have signed a two year deal that will see him at the Uganda Premier League (UPL) side until the close of the 2019/20 season.
Samoka who has previously played for Nkumba Select Beach Soccer team is currently leading the top scorers’ chats in the league (Beach Soccer) and having started out as an 11 aside footballer, he will clearly adjust to the game easily.
He is also the current holder of the Beach Soccer golden boot and guided Nkumba select team to the 2015 title as well as Isabeti for the 2017 beach soccer Championships
At UPL side, Kirinya Jinja S. S has joins Isaac Isinde, Douglas Muganga, Julius Debo, Nelson Mandela, Blaize Nkolo, Joseph Opolot, and Masataka Sakaguchi as the new signings for the Jinja based side.
Whether he helps Kirinya finish higher than the fifth place they achieved last season, remains to be seen.
Samoka will in action on Sunday as the Sand Cranes host Ivory Coast in an AFCON qualifier at Spener Beach-Entebbe.
