JKL Lady Dolphins 88-68 A1 Challenge

Jamila Nansikombi scored a game high 25 points as JKL Lady Dolphins defeated A1 Challenge 88-68 to win game one of the best of five series at Lugogo on Wednesday night.

Peace Nakirijja got the game rolling with a jump shot to put JKL 2-0 up inside the first 10 seconds of the game and Hope Akello increased their advantage to three, converting one of her two free-throws following a foul by Sheilah Abey, a minute later.

By the end of the first quarter, JKL led by as many as seven with the scores 24-17.

In the second, JKL scored the first 12 points of the quarter en route to a 40-27 lead going into halftime.

JKL never looked back as they won the third 26-18 and despite A1 winning the fourth 23-22, the Dolphins saw out the game 88-68.

Apart from Nansikombi (25), Hope Akello was in devastating form, scoring a double double of 17 points and 17 rebounds on the night. Ritah Imanishimwe (16) and Stella Oyella (12) were the others who reached double figures interms of points for JKL.

For A1, they had three players reach double figures (points) in the losing effort. Susan Amito (12), Captain-Stella Nikuze (16) and Georgia Adiambo (18) all put up spirited displays on the night.

Game two will be played on Sunday.
