With just three weeks to the start of the 2018/19 Uganda Premier League season, it looks like the departure of players from SC Villa is nowhere near its end.

With a host of star including last season’s Captain Bernard Muwanga, Allan Kyambadde, Nicholas Kasozi, Henry Katongole and others all leaving the club this summer already, striker Yubu Bogere has become the latest player to depart the 16 time record league champions.

In a move that may be viewed by many as a down grade, the striker has signed for Prison side, Maroons FC.

Bogere who joined Villa from Masaza side Bugerere is believed to have put pen to paper on a deal that will see him in Luzira till the close of the 2019/20 season.

He was initially a midfielder but was turned into a striker last season by former Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa.

Bogere scored five league goals last season and with Maroons struggling in the striking department last term, he may be the man to take Asaph Mwebaze’e side past that huddle as he possesses that physicality and Ariel prowess to suit the team’s style of play.

Maroons scored a league second low of 18 goals in 30 matches with only seven goals at home

At Maroons, he joins Seif Batte, Sulaiman Majanjalo, Samuel Semitego and Muhammad Kyeyune as their new signings.
