EAPCCO 2018

Uganda 1-2 Tanzania

National Stadium,

Tuesday, 06-08-2018

Uganda’s representatives, Police FC lost their first game at the 2018 East African Police Chiefs Cooperation (EAPCCO)  Games in Tanzania.

Star player Juma Balinya scored Abdallah Mubiru’s side’s only goal of the game but was not enough to get even a point on the day as the Tanzanians proved too hot to handle.

The defending champions went on to loss 2-1 and will now have to double effort to defend the title they won in Mukono last year at the inaugural games.

Coach Abdallah Mubiru played a familiar side on the day with only new signing Ronald Nyanzi, handed a full debut.

Mubiru was full of disappointment as he conducted a phone interview with PML Daily after the loss.

“Everyone is disappointed that we have not won our opening game, said Mubiru.

“We are in this year’s competition as defending champions and despite of the fact that we want to use it as preparation for the upcoming season, we also want to retain our title.

“The team made a lot of mistakes but i am confident we can rectify them in our next fixture.

The Cops’ next outing is against Rwanda’s counterparts, Police FC who also feature in their national top tier league.
