Big Spenders, Wakiso Giants will take on Tanzanian side Azam FC in a preseason friendly at the StarTimes stadium in Lugogo on Wednesday afternoon.
The FUFA Big league side who bought off Kamuli Park this summer played their first ever game against SC Villa last week and managed to scrap out a 3-2 win, coming from two goals down.
Their head coach Ibrahim Kirya says that they will continue using these games to assess the players as the Big League season edges closer.
“It will be a good game against a much organized side, says Kiyra ahead of the game.
“It’s a preseason friendly but so important to us because we are yet to figure out our first team.
“We will use this game to continue assessing the players so as we find the right combinations as the season is close to starting.
Wakiso Giants has been on a spending spree this summer, signing over 20 players and if information coming from their camp is to be believed, they are still in the market for more acquisitions.
For Tanzanian side Azam FC, this is the third consecutive year that they tour Uganda in the off season.
Their first international build up game this year was a goalless draw against Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football club at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Wakiso Giants may not have been on Azam’s priority list for the tour but with the acquisitions the Kabojja based side has made, it will be quite a challenge for the one time Tanzanian league champions as they will prove on Wednesday.
