Pilsner-FUFA Super 8
KCCA FC vs Bul FC
StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Saturday, 04-08-2018
KCCA FC will host Bul FC at the StarTimes stadium in Lugogo as the the FUFA Super 8 tournament kickoff on Saturday afternoon.
The inaugural edition of the tournament has not had its downs as both league reigning champions Vipers SC and Police FC decided to with draw, sighting other preseason engagements but all that will be put into the closet when the first ball is kicked in Lugogo.
It will be a huge chance for some of KCCA and Bul’s recruits to prove their worth in front of their respective new managers.
For those of KCCA, they will be looking to impress manager Mutebi as the team builds up to the last two group games in CAF Champions League.
“The Super 8 is is a great innovation, said KCCA Fc coach Mike Mutebi ahead of the game.
“We shall give it the attention it deserves.
“It gives us opportunity to keep our boys fit ahead of the Caf Champions League and the season ahead.
KCCA FC looked a shadow of the side that defeated Egyptian giants Al Ahly when they lost 1-0 to Esperance and the coaching staff will indeed hope to get the players in the best possible shape before Botswana’s Township Rollers comes to town.
The Kasasiro Boys have been on a recruitment spree this off season, securing the services of Allan Kyambadde and Nicholas Kasozi, both from SC Villa late last month.
The two are expected to make their competitive debuts for Mike Mutebi’s side on Saturday along with Sulaiman Mutyaba who was signed as a free agent in May.
For Bul, having seen Kefa Kisala depart for Express FC last month, U17 National team coach Peter Onen is expected to try and prove his worth in the dugout for the Jinja based side and how better to do exactly that than getting a result against arguably the best side in the country at the moment.
KCCA Fc hosted Bul in the second last games of last season with the Kasasiro Boys requiring a late Derrick Nsibambi header to win 2-1.
The hosts go into the game having won all their last four competitive fixtures against BUL with an aggregate score of 10 whilst conceding only three goals.
Bul has only ever defeated KCCA on two occasions in their 14 competitive meetings (D5 L7).
Their only win away to KCCA came in a league fixture back in March 2016 when a Milton Karisa second half goal secured the Jinja based side a 1-0 victory. Since then, they have lost all the two proceeding fixtures-scoring only a single goal.
