Ivan Magomu missed the win against Tunisia due to disciplinary issues

2018 Africa Gold Cup

Uganda vs Tunisia

Kyadondo Rugby Grounds, Kampala

Saturday, 11-08-2018

Kampala – Fly half Ivan Magomu has been named in the Rugby Cranes starting line up to face Morocco today at Kyadondo Rugby Club.

Having missed the 65-12 win against Tunisia due to suspension by the coaches for taking part in the coronation tourney, Magomu apologized to the team before and recalled to the side.

The Black Pirates back was dropped for the Tunisia game after going against team orders and taking part in the Coronation Sevens Circuit at Legends two weeks ago.

His return will be the only change made to the starting team that faced Tunisia.

He replaces Robert Masendi, who took the number 10 shirt in his absence and scored Uganda’s first try last week.

The rest of the team remains unchanged with Martial Tchumkam, Paul Ssekate and team captain Asuman Mugerwa taking charge at the front.

Ronald Musajjagulanyago is back to the team fold but will only start on the bench.

Eric Mula will also get a chance from the bench with try scorer Ian Munyani dropped.

Uganda moved from bottom to third place on the log after the emphatic 67-12 win over Tunisia.

This is Uganda’s fourth match of this year’s edition that also doubles as the qualifiers for 2019 World cup.

They lost their first two games to Namibia and Kenya before the win against Tunisia put the team back into contention for a place in the Repercharge competition.

Their last game will be a home tie against Zimbabwe next week.

Starting lineup against Tunisia:
