At the start of the 2018/18 off-season, several Kampala business men joined up to acquire a Big League club, leading to the birth of Wakiso Giants.

It is believed that about 100 million exchanged hands between Kamuli Park F.C and the said business men so as ownership is transferred.

The new club owners have since applied to the FUFA Executive Committee, humbly requesting for a formal change of name and venue.

Wakiso Giants F.C will be coached by former SC Villa Jogoo, Lweza, URA and Mbarara City head coach Ibrahim “Uchumi” Kirya and their home games are going to be hosted at the Wakiso Resource Centre.

Newly created Wakiso Giants Football Club has become an instant hit across the divide for one bold reason – purchase of players every 24 hours.

The newly elected coach Ibrahim Kirya said he wants to sign as many players as possible to see his team promoted to super.

“We want to sign as many experienced players as possible, said Ibrahim Kirya in a recent interview.

“This will make our promotion journey easy and a reality within just one season.

Players include the talented Hassan Wasswa Dazo who once played for KCCA, Villa, Express among others.

Abdul-Karim Kasule, a right footed winger who has previously played at Artland-Katale, Lweza, Sports Club Villa Jogoo, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Express and lately Mbarara City Football Club.

Utility player Isaac Ntege from Kirinya Jinja SS, striker Eddie Mubiru, goalkeeper Mansoor Mutumba from relegated Masavu SC and Cleo Ssetubba from Nyamitoraba FC have already put pen to paper.

Ivan Mbowa from Onduparaka FC and James Kasibante from Masavu have also joined the football Club.

The players have agreed to the terms and conditions set before them before signing the employment contract with the prime objective of helping the club secure promotion to the top tier league.
