With just over 24 hours to their first game at the 2018 CECAFA Women’s Challenge cup, the Uganda Crested Cranes conducted their first training session in Rwanda.
The team went through several drills at the Mumena Artificial Turf stadium in Kigali on Tuesday evening.
Their head coach Faridah Bulega says that they are ready for the challenge ahead of them.
“Our first day in Rwanda was ok in terms of training, said Bulega.
“The Weather is ok and we have been focusing on set-pieces, so we can get better in terms of corners and free-kicks.
“I also wanted to make the final decision on who is in charge of such situations once they arise on match day.
“We have also been working on how to retain possession better so as we are ready come match day one against Kenya, continued Bulega.
“The girls are mentally and physically ready to compete and am expecting good results.
The team will resume training today (Wednesday) at 2pm (Uganda time) at Stade De Kigali.
The Crested Cranes will take on Kenya in their first match on Thursday at the Stade de Kigali before resuming duty in Saturday against Ethiopia at the same stadium.
The round robin tournament will then see Uganda take on Tanzania on Monday and then Rwanda next Wednesday.
