In the aftermath of violence that engulfed the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi final first leg between SC Villa and Vipers SC, the Kitende based club has come up with a list of Fans that have been banned from accessing the St. Mary’s stadium.
Through a press statement released by the club on Thursday, vipers declared the said persons as “Personna Non Grata”.
The Statement read:
“The management of Vipers Sports Club here by informed the general public that the following persons are hereby with immediate effect effect indefinitely banned from accessing St. Marys Stadium Kitende and are forthwith declared “Persona Non Grata”.
“The under-listed persons have been involved in repeated acts of football violence, use of vulgar language, hooliganism and unsporting conduct on a number of football matches involving SC Villa and Vipers SC. The Vipers SC management is of the opinion that their continued presence is a danger to peace, social order and sporting integrity.
“Vipers SC is committed to protecting its integrity, growing brand plus the image of its partners, sponsors and tonsure the security and well being of all its guests and fans during football matches and events, continued the statement.
“Vipers sports club management strongly condemns these barbaric acts.
The list of banned individuals:
Lutaya James aka Kabaliga, Katongole Selegious, Yiga Godfrey, Lubwama Muhammad aka Kanu, Kizito Peter aka BK, Bashir Juma aka Mukwasi, Henry Kizito aka Tito, Zuma, Katende Jane, Bukedde Emmanuel, Bukenya, Asaph Kasule, Yusuf Ddamulira, Godfrey Akanyoleka, Ssalongo Sebyoto and Sunday David.
It is to be remembered that during last week’s Uganda cup game, Villa fans throw stones towards the Vipers’ technical bench forcing the occupants to enter the field of play during the 30th minute of the match.
At half time, the same bunch of fans throw more stones towards the Vipers contingent that was going back to the dressing rooms and in the process, hurt both defender Halid Lwaliwa and head coach Miguel da Costa with the later taken to hospital immediately.
The bad air between the two clubs’ fans can also be traced back to 2014/15 season when violence at Buikwe, then home ground of Vipers resulted into death of a football fan.
The return leg of the Uganda Cup game between the two sides will take place next week at the St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.
At Wankulukuku last week, the game ended 0-0.
The other semi final is between KCCA and Synergy FC who play out the second leg on Thursday at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo with the Kasasiro Boys leading 1-0 on aggregate.
