Uganda draws USA in 3×3 Basketball World Cup

The Uganda senior 3*3 Women’s team, the Gazelles will be representing the country at

FIBA 3*3 World Cup 2018.

This year’s global show piece event will be held the world’s largest in dooor arena in Manila, Philippine from June 8-12 2018 .

The team traveling will comprise of four players, a Doctor and Physio, head coach and Assistant.

Uganda is currently seeded 19th and will tussle it out with USA, Russia, Iran and Andorra.

The Full Groups of the FIBA 2018 3*3 World:

Women:

Group A;

Venezuela, Czech Republic, Italy, Malaysia, Turkey.

Group B:

China, France, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Argentina.

Group C:

Andora, Russia, Iran, USA, Uganda.

Group D:

Hungry, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Philippines.

Men:

Group A;

Serbia, Netherlands, Romania, New Zealand, Kyrgyzstan.

Group B:

Slovenia, Poland, Estonia, Japan, Ecuador.

Group C:

Russia, Brazil, Mongolia, Canada, Philippines.

Group D:

Latvia, Ukraine, Croatia, Nigeria, Jordan.

Meanwhile in the FUBA National Basketball league, Sharing Youths produced a stunning fourth quarter display to defeat Ndejje Angles 77-69.

The Nsambya based side went into the last quarter trailing by 10 points but ran riot as they won it (fourth) 39-21 and in the process register their second victory of the season.

Substitute Baraka Mobela top scored on the night with 31 points.

For Ndejje Angels, Innocent Ochera top scored for them with 30 points and a game high seven rebounds.

In the other game played, JKL Dolphins inflicted a second defeat on UPDF Tomahawks in a 59-51 victory.

The Army side who lost the first game to Our Savior had only Bernard Okumu register double figures in terms of points with 12.

For the Dolphines, Ivan Rumanyika registered his first double-double of the season, posting figures of 23 points and 13 rebounds on the night.
