A win for Mbarara would all but ensure their league status next season

Mbarara City will just Onduparaka at the Kakyeka Stadium knowing that a win would ensure their status as Azam Uganda Premier League participants next season.

The Ankole Lions head into the game with 29 points from 38 games and a win would see them move five points away from the drop zone.

With the teams below them squaring off in several matches before the season ends, victory would mean Mbarara will be in the top flight for at least one more season.

“We are fighting for our lives and we need every point we can get out hands on, said Mbarara City coach Sam Kawalya

“Luckily for us, we are not in the worst possible situation but we need not to relax because things can change in a snap of a finger.

“This is out second last final and we will play our hearts out.

For the visitors, top four status is achieved already as Kirinya who are in fifth seat four points adrift of the Caterpillars with the Jinja based side having one more game to play this season.

However, Onduparaka would want to get as many points they can in order to solidify this season as the best they have enjoyed in the top flight after managing 45 points in their maiden campaign.
