FOOTBALL–Following the FUFA Appeals committee ruling on Tuesday that former Onduparaka striker Shaban Muhammad is cleared to play for KCCA FC, his former club Onduparaka have assured the football fraternity that they will not rest until justice is served.
The West Nile based club petitioned the ruling by the Players status committee in September which had given KCCA the green light to sign Shaban.
Their petition was over looked by the Appeals committee earlier this week, a decission which has left Onduparaka levid.
“Their is no difference between the Players Status Committee ruling and that of the Appeals Committee,” said Onduparaka CEO Anthony Afeti in an exclusive interview with PML Daily.
Both acknowledge the fact that he (Shaban) was under contract with Onduparaka and the Appeals committee sights that he broke a running contract.
“We don’t know where the ruling on Tuesday comes from and trust we are not resting untill justice is done,” Afeti said.
“As Onduparaka, we are not going to avail anyone with our accounts so as the twenty two million which was stipulated in the ruling is paid to us because we believe the money is below the valuation of the player,” he added.
It is believed that Vipers SC had bid Shs50 million for Shaban before he signed for KCCA FC in September.
“What we also don’t understand is that if FUFA was doing this in the best of interest of all parties, why didn’t they let him go to Vipers who were offering more money,” Afeti said.
“Our next move is to write to both CAF and FIFA about the situation and if we are not helped, we will have no other alternative but go to the courts of law,” he added.
Shaban is currently training with KCCA FC who are all set to play him in their next league fixtures dispite their coach Mike Mutebi earlier suggesting that FUFA had misled his club and that they (KCCA) were willing to let the boy (Shaban) go back to Onduparaka FC if they are deemed to have done wrong in signing the player.
It remains to be seen where Shaban Muhammad’s situation will go after this but clearly, Onduparaka are not going to let go of the player minus a fight.
