FOOTBALL– Shafik Bisaso appears to be staring down the barrel of a pre-mature exit at Soana FC, and he has been granted a one game ultimatum to save his job following an indifferent start to the 2017-2018 UPL season, PML daily has learnt.

Following an off-season of a resounding Squad overhaul that was pertinently marked by appointing of Shafik Bisaso as new head coach, mogul Smart Obedi tasked his new coach to oversee marked improvements at his new work stations.

But the Bisaso-coached side, four games in the new season, has displayed little or no promise to meet Obedi’s ambitions. They have managed only four point’s courtesy of 1-0 victory over league strugglers Masavu FC and a one-all draw against Bright Stars. They have however lost 1-0 to SC Villa and 2-0 to Proline FC.

And it is reported that Soana FC Boss Smart Obedi held talks with Bisaso and his coaching staff seeking answers of why the start to the new-season has been disappointing.

It is further understood that the club’s management have thought long and hard since Soana FC’s 2-0 loss to Proline FC since the league went into recess to give way for the international break, with the Youthful coach needing to indicate a willingness to change the dynamic and momentum to stand any chance of clinging on his job.

And it seems Bisaso will now get Friday’s trip to the intimidating green Light Stadium to face Onduparaka FC to demonstrate that he can improve results, otherwise he will almost certainly be sacked. Although there is undoubted respect for Bisaso as a budding coach, it may be that a quick change suits all parties and ensures that Wallet-happy Smart Obedi gets his money’s worth after spending enormous fees on squad overhaul in the off-season.

Soana FC ‘s last visit to the Intimidating Greenlight Stadium was a goalless stalement at the opening day of last season, and embattled Bisaso will hope a similar result or a win can help him save his job.
