Cranes interim coach Moses Basena has named his starting line up for this evening’s World Cup qualifier against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
The most notable inclusion by the UPDF coach sees KCCA FC’s Derrick Nsibambi start ahead of proven goal scorer Geofry Sserunkuma as the lone striker.
Nsibambi has been in fine form of late scoring one of the three goals for Uganda in the CHAN qualifiers against Rwanda in the 3-0 win at the St Marys stadium in Kitende. His form put aside it is a suprise that he starts ahead of Sserunkuma who was the top scorer in the 2016/17 Uganda Premier League season with 21 goals and has been Uganda’s first choice striker post AFCON 2017.
With Baba Kizito not in the game Basena has opted for versatile defender Hassan Wasswa in the holding midfield along Khalid Aucho with Buildcon defenderIsaac Isinde starting his first game for the Cranes since AfCON at the heart of the defence with Murushid Jjuuko.
Left back Ochaya will play on the left wing infront of Godfery Walusimbi in a more conservative move by Basena.
