KAMPALA – Singer Mukibi Sadat better known by his stage name Khalifa Aganaga has for long been vocal ever since he declared his intentions of represent the people of Rubaga South in the 11th parliament.

The singer however also plans to reign on the financial muscle of every Ugandan to oust legendary radio personality and comedian Kato Lubwama who is the incumbent in the slot.

Mukiibi who also doubles as the C.E.O Bad Character Records has started a fundraising drive to obtain enough money for his upcoming campaigns for the Rubaga South parliamentary seat.

The singer says he needs as low Shs1,000 from each well-wisher, to help him roll his campaign.

“My candidature is for everyone, every person no matter their background. I, therefore, call upon all people who know me, my fans, and everyone interested in change to contribute to this campaign,” Aganaga said.

“This is a mission and we shall not wait for someone to get enough money. We can contribute Shs1000 without really hardening anyone’s financial position,” he added.

However, Kato Lubwama the Rubaga South incumbent who has been throwing jabs to Khalifah ever since he declared intentions to run against him come 2021advised the singer to keep away from politics unless he has some money.

“He should borrow from the bank if he has collateral. Who will he represent when he has no money? He should use the time to organise himself in behavior and dress code,” Lubwama said.

“Who sent him to stand for a parliamentarian seat? He has no money, he will become a thief,” Lubwama added.

The popular comedian turned politician further explained that Kalifah Aganaga is not a Parliament material and he is better off sticking to his music.

He claims Kalifah doesn’t bathe yet Parliament is full of responsible people.

“Parliament is not a joke, Kalifah Aganaga should first learn how to bathe before contesting because the Parliament is packed with responsible people,” he said.

Kalifah Aganaga is coming on the National Unity Platform ticket while Kato Lubwama on the Democratic Party ticket.
