UBTEB releases final roadmap for Technical, Business and Vocational examinations deferred for May/June 2020 due to covid-19

KAMPALA — Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) has announced normal resumption of registration for the May/June Examination series starting Monday October 19 to Friday October 30 2020.

Late registration according to a circular to all heads of institutions by UBTEB Executive Secretary Mr. Onesmus Oyesigye will start on Monday November 2, Friday November 6, 2020.

The process had been opened in March but was affected by coronavirus measures that included closure of education institutions.

Mr. Oyesigye indicated that the first phase of the deferred May/June 2020 examinations shall start on Monday November 23 2020 for Technical Diploma awarding Institutions while second phase shall start on Monday November 30 for Colleges of Commerce/Business and Departmental institutions.

The second phase, he added indicated will include all second years Semester II for the August intake and all second years Semester one for the March intake.

Oyesigye also noted that the Board expects to conduct examinations for a total of over 40,000 candidates at 203 UBTEB accredited Examination centres across the country and that it will register candidates for the deferred Nov/Dec 2020 examinations series starting on Monday of November, 2 2020 to Friday December 11, 2020.

“All candidates’ registration shall be done online using the access portal provided by the Board. Candidates of the deferred Nov/Dec 2020 examinations shall sit in March 2021,” he wrote, further advising heads of training institutions to make sure the correct fees charged by UBTEB are displayed on their Notice Boards for candidates and parents to access the right amount in each category of programme of study.
Late registration shall start on Monday 2nd November, 2020 and end on Friday 6th November, 2020.

Mr. Oyesigye also urged all Heads of training institutions to observe the curriculum guidelines on real life projects and Continuous Assessment processes as stipulated in the UBTEB Regulations.
