UBTEB issues road map for May/June 2020 examinations

KAMPALA – The Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) has released the registration circular for the conduct of the May/June 2020 examinations series.

UBTEB Executive Secretary Mr. Oyesigye Onesmus said that the registration exercise for all candidates on is slated to start 6th march 2020 to 22nd April 2020.

He noted that those candidates who will miss the set deadline will register under late registration which will commence on 27th April 2020 to 30th April 2020 with a 50% surcharge.

He encouraged all heads of centers to adhere to the rules on the conduct of competency-based examinations.

“We have indicated all important dates for inspection and assessment of all continuous assessment as well as monitoring of Industrial training,’ he said noting that the board shall not tolerate any cases of late submission of any continuous assessment reports since everything shall be automated.

Mr. Oyesigye said the will also conduct training of all registrars from training institutions in April 2020 on submission of continuous assessment reports online

He also The Board further encourages the heads of centres to guide students on the revised UBTEB rules on the conduct of assessment as approved in 2019 (copies can be accessed on the website).

UBTEB is a National Examination body that is mandated to streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible national examinations and award Diplomas and Certificates in the Business, Technical and Vocational or specialized education or training institutions in Uganda.

The Board was established by the Business Technical Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) Act 12 of 2008 and operationalized its activities by the Business, Technical, Vocational Education and Training (Establishment of the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB)) Regulations, 2009 SI No. 9 of 2009.
