Makerere explains details of 70th graduation

MAKERERE – Mr. Alfred Masikye, the Makerere University, Academic Registrar, has released general information, giving details of the 70th Graduation Ceremony slated for January 14 to 17, 2020.

In a detailed statement shared on the university website, Mr. Masikye said every first-degree graduand must pay a total of UGX208,000 for Ugandans/East Africans and US$ 130, plus UGX98,000/= for Internationals as Convocation, Graduation, Transcript and Certificate fees before he/she can be allowed to graduate.

Students are supposed to pay UGX40000 for graduation, UGX10000 for convocation well as transcript fee is UGX30000.

In addition, the graduation gown is sold at UGX98000 and the certificate at UGX30000.

“This fee should be paid in Banks, Stanbic Bank branches i.e. Makerere University or Wandegeya, DFCU Bank, Centenary Bank, Post Bank and United Bank of Africa, Makerere University,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, Postgraduate Students who undertook their first-degree course at Makerere University need not pay for Convocation.

The academic registrar, all Ph.D. graduands are required to pay a Cylinder fee of UGX50,000 in addition to other fees.
